About

About the Campaign: We, as employees of Atlantic Southeast Airlines in the Maintenance division, have launched a campaign to join the Teamsters Union. We are seeking respect on the worksite, better pay and benefits, improved safety conditions, better training and an end to unfair standard practice procedures.

In the maintenance division at ASA, we regularly face favoritism, forced over time, harassment and intimidation by management. We are required to keep up with standard practice procedures that the company changes daily and we are forced to work in departments that are grossly understaffed.

We need to stop the continued and serious erosion of our benefits. In the past five years, we have been stuck paying more for benefits that cover less. Recently, our health care monthly cost once again increased at the same time the cost of our flight benefits went up. By taking the necessary steps to organize our union, we intend to stop this continuing downgrading of our benefits and finally protect and improve them.

We are pro-union and pro-ASA. By improving our jobs and gaining a voice through our union, it is our intention to help make our airline the best in the industry.

Mission Statement: Our mission is to help our coworkers realize that now is the time for us to secure our future with the company, establish a real retirement, and secure better benefits for ourselves and our families. We want to improve our work environment by securing a strong Teamster contract. We want to make our airline the most premier regional airline for which to work.

Announcement (1/10/09):
We have reached the majority of our coworkers and are ready to kick off the second phase of our campaign. The majority has spoken and the time is now to form our Union. We will start our card drive and will be working with our fellow coworkers to collect cards to file for our Teamster election. In getting the majority of our coworkers on signature cards, we will be petitioning the NMB (National Mediation Board) to start the election process.
